   Muti featured and easy to use.

   The scale is accurate, has many features, is easy to use, and does not take up a lot of space. I have had a single kitchen scale for decades and it just recently wore out. I was a little worried about getting a new scale, but this one has proven to be perfect.

    Stylish, Compact, Easy to Use

    I bought the scale in the steel finish and it looks sleek and stylish. I wipe it down after every use, hoping it looks new and shiny for longer. It’s rectangular and compact, so it’s easy to store in my kitchen drawer. I had a kitchen scale before this which was oddly shaped (the base was oval and the weighing plate was elevated and circular, which made it a pain to store). The scale is easy to use for me: there are just 2 buttons. One allows you to change the unit of weight by tapping on it, the other is on/off and tare. The display is bright and clear. So far it’s been working great and is a value for money for me.

    High Quality

    I bought this Kitchen scale after seeing that more and more recipes that I find have their ingredients listed in weight rather than amounts. I am an avid baker, trying new recipes and baking something in my kitchen almost every day! I am extremely satisfied with the Etekcity brand! It was easy to start using it, following the well-written directions in the manual it came with. It has been very consistent and accurate even with small amounts like 20 grams and large amounts like 5 pounds, The scale is easy to read, even when it is covered with a large bowl. The scale is versatile, reads in multiple measurements: grams, milliliters, fluid ounces, pounds/ounces. I rely on the ‘tare’ button every time I use it (With one press of the button, it automatically subtracts the weight of the bowl from the total so you only see the weight of the ingredient you’re adding). It automatically turn off when I’m done using it. It is stainless steel so it is easy to wipe clean and so far, I have not had to replace the battery. (I’ve had it for over a year). I appreciate the size, as it is easy to store and doesn’t take a lot of space. I also bought one for my daughter-in-law and she is enjoying it for the same reasons, but in addition, my son uses it to measure his nuts/bolts in the garage! For some reason, he said he needed a scale to measure something in very small amounts i.e. grams and milliliters so he enjoying this scale as well! For all the reasons I have mentioned, the scale meets my needs and I highly recommend buying it!

    The Etekcity Luminary kitchen food scale is a convenient size, accurate, durable and lightweight.

    This food scale quite surprised me. I don’t know what I expected for the price but i wasn’t expecting much. WOW! Was I surprised. I bought this food scale because I had bought a Etekcity bathroom scale several years earlier and found it to be sturdy, reliable and very accurate and I am extremely happy with its performance. I still use it to this day.If you’re considering a Etekcity food scale, I recommend the larger scale even though it is more expensive. You’ll be very pleased that you did as the larger platen allows the scale to accommodate bigger containers. Smaller isn’t always better or more convenient. The larger scale isn’t so much larger that it’s difficult to store away. It’s very lightweight yet it’s still small enough that it doesn’t require much shelf space nor does it require any measurable amount of energy to store it away. Charging the scale takes a couple of hours to fully charge. The included instructions don’t tell you that so I just did. I don’t know how long a full charge lasts because I haven’t used it enough to determine that. The scale has a lithium ion battery so I expect it to hold a charge for quite a long time. It automatically turns off after 180 seconds of not being used. You can also manually turn it off.

    Great scale, awesome customer support

    The scale is great- accurate, supports a respectable amount of weight, and very easy to clean, especially as its water resistant. Battery life is very good (but would charge it before first use).Unfortunately, 9 months in, it started giving erratic reads. We contacted customer support and they were very responsive, ultimately sending out a new scale. Replacement is working great. I’ve been through a number of scales (caregiver for a brittle diabetic who weighs everything to the gram), and this one is the best of the lot I’ve worked with. Not an analytical scale, but also not $4k. I think the malfunction was probably a one-off dud, but the customer support completely made up for it. Would/will definitely buy again.

    Kitchen scale

    I love this kitchen scale. This is the second one I’ve bought only because my first one did not get packed when I moved. I use this all the time when I am measuring ounces for my meal plan. It will measure ounces, pounds. I get it out of my kitchen drawer put it on a flat counter zero it out then I’ll put a dish on top that I’m going to put my meat product in or my pasta or vegetables and a weigh it again with the bowl on it I will zero it out, so now the scale thinks everythings at zero and then I’ll put my ground beef inside the bowl and I’ll measure 12 ounces. Or put vegetables in it and the ounces the important thing to remember is put it on a flat surface press the button and zero it out it’ll say 0.00. And then whatever you’re going to measure put a container on top of the scale zero the scale out again before you put your product in the bowl. I love this scale.

    I am enjoying this scale. It isn’t totally accurate, as the same thing can be said to be a gram or so different within a few minutes. But the differences are not at all worrisome. If you are worried about a gram either way, this isn’t the right sort of scale for you. For cooking, though, this is wonderful. I have used it particularly to weigh the various things I put in my morning cereal bowl, so that the concoction is more or less the same every morning and is reasonably in line with what the box says is one serving. Since my cereal bowls are large, it is all too easy to pour far too much into the bowl if you don’t weigh or measure the ingredients.Beyond simple weighing, probably the most useful feature for me is the Zero button. You can put an empty bowl on the scale, zero it out, and then easily get the weight of what you put into the bowl. The scale ignores the weight of the bowl itself. As you put the ingredients into the bowl, you can zero it out after each one, to get the weight of each ingredient separately, without any arithmetic. This feature is especially welcome first thing in the morning, when I am too sleepy to do the most elementary calculations correctly.It is also helpful to be able to weigh portions as you divide up meat or something else, such as a big bowl of salad, into single servings. Since I live alone and often need to do this, something to allow me to make the servings equal is invaluable.Of course, the scale is also useful for non-cooking tasks, when you need to know the weight of something small. For instance, are you sure that envelope you are putting in the mail is really under an ounce? Put it on the scale to be sure how much postage you need. (Changing from one unit of measurement to another is just a matter of touching a button, in this case perhaps several times, as the function circles through the various measures available, rather than jumping directly to the one you want.)Turning on or off is a matter of touching a button (no need to press; just touch). Operation is quick – most functions are virtually instantaneous. The exception is that the unit “thinks” a bit when weighing. The weight changes a little over a few seconds, so waiting until it stabilizes instead of taking the first weight displayed is a good idea, if you are looking for an accurate result. The change isn’t large, however, so if getting the most accurate possible weight is not important to you, there is no strong reason not to take the first displayed weight. Just know that what displays in the first second is probably slightly off.Charging, which I did need to do after a few months, is much quicker than I expected.. I put it on the charger, thinking that it would take hours, but it charged in much less. I didn’t note the exact time, so I can’t say just how long it took, but I remember being quite surprised at how fast it was.Overall, I am more than pleased. I hope the unit continues to function so well.

    Works Great!

    Love my new scale. I use it for both baking and shipping. It’s easy to switch between grams and ounces, the display is easily readable and the unit seems solid. The best feature is the HOLD button — if the package is too large and overlaps the display you can press HOLD to keep the weight displayed after removing the package. No more trying to peak around the box.

    Avoid getting water in it

    Easy to use. Had for 3 months already, batteries it came with still are good. I use every day for calorie tracking.Careful when cleaning with water, try not to let it get into the button gaps. Will mess with the weight. Most of it will come out if I shake it really hard haha. I mostly clean with damp rag and disinfecting wipes.Wish I got one with a little bigger base for when I cook soups and such so I can read the number easier. Does support the soup weight amount.overall very convenient. Good size, and I like the different unit feature. Display bright and easy to read from above. At an angle (bowl too big) is almost impossible. Ensure the right size scale for your needs!

    I appreciate how accurate the scale is in my work with bread. I use grams, but you can switch it between other units. You also have the option between liquid and dry weights. It’s also waterproof. When the water bottle is full, I can’t help spilling a good amount on the scale. I just wipe it off and don’t worry about it. I totally recommend this scale.

    Great compact scale, screen turns off quickly

    I bought this scale to help with making sourdough bread, and it is great for that. It is large enough to easily fit the quart mason jar on the scale and see the readout. It has a little bit of a lag when measuring, so get close to the weight I want to add and then add slowly in smaller amounts so that I don’t overshoot my desired weight.I wish the screen didn’t time out on its own so fast. Sometimes I will be weighing something and I will have to turn around to grab another component. The screen seems to turn off whenever I turn back. When I push the button to turn it back on, it tares the scale. I only took one star off because I have just learned to be better prepared when making my mixtures. I make sure I have all of my ingredients at the ready before starting now.

    Works great, easy to use and charge

    We were looking for a better and more reliable kitchen scale. This is it, have had it since December 2023 with no issues. Have used it for the kitchen and to weigh packages to mail out and it does a great job. I love the usb-c plug in to the unit over the old micro port thing. I wanted a rechargeable battery (not more AA batteries to toss and buy) and it comes with a USB-C charging cable. The other part of the cable plugs into a regular USB plug. It charges pretty fast and lasts a month or two. Love the stainless steel platform over the glass too.

    Don’t get it wet!

    I weigh portions of canned pet food for our felines and this particular scale works well for this purpose. Naturally, when there’s meat involved I wanted to wash the surface thoroughly. Didn’t think a top-down quick rinse off in the sink would fritz this as quickly as it did. Fortunately, after a couple of weeks of letting it dry itself out, it came back to life. However, at first it could not zero out without starting at around three grams. Then after a few more days down to two. And finally back to zero a week after that. Been working just fine since. So again, DON’T GET IT WET!

    I love that my Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale is a great tool in my kitchen to help me measure food to ensure that I track what I’m putting into my body, my husband’s and my children’s bodies each and every day, all day! It helps me measure food and ensure the quality control on everything. This food scale is my constant companion. I don’t eat without it. Now, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t always use a food scale to measure my food intake. In fact, for years when I heard people talk about using a food scale, and measuring their food intake it was always dieters, and one thing I never went on was a diet. At least not in the sense I understood they meant to use the word, “diet”! The thought of depriving my body from food was foreign to me. In fact, growing up with a limited food supply meant that once I was old enough to get a job, I exiled food shortage from my life. However, overeating because food became plentiful in adulthood with a job eventually became a problem. Especially after pregnancy and becoming a mother. An experience worth losing a few vanity points over for sure! However, with weight gain vanity concerns pale in comparison to health concerns. You see, I needed to know for sure that I was eating what my body needed, and that I was feeding my husband and children what their bodies needed.     Good scale, better app

    Prefer some of the other “glass top” scales, but after trying several kept this one as the VeSync app is superior to the other apps for tracking and logging as the nutrition/food database has thousands and thousands of foods and the bar code scanner is very accurate in the appWould prefer slightly larger platform and glass, but still happy with purchaseSo many options don’t pay more than $20 for a reliable food scall

    Great for my first scale

    As someone who’s never owned a scale, I was grateful this one was easy to use. The directions were clear. It small enough to fit in a drawer, but keep in mind that also limits the amount of food that can fit on it. The quality is great for the price.

    Does not weight less than a gram

    I ordered this scale to weigh out a supplement I’m deficient in. This scale does not weigh less than a gram. I am keeping it though because some baking recipes give everything in weight. I purchased this without really knowing what I needed. The scale is just fine 🙂

    Superior Customer Service

    I had an issue with this scale and was past the limited warranty expiration date. I scoured the Amazon reviews to see if my issue was at all a common experience. I read negative reviews from customers who have no understanding of load cell characteristics who thought that a $13 piece of electronic equipment should have the precision of a super-professional grade scale and a platform size able to handle large containers. Others who complained that it had trouble after it got wet (didn’t read the instructions!)Etekcity’s rep is better borne out by the overwhelming 5 star reviews on Amazon. I found their customer service to be respectful, responsible to both their customer and themselves. They took the time to consider my issue and resolved it in a manner that reinforces my faith that there ARE businesses who stand by their products even when they are past warranty expiration.I only wish the product was made in the U.S. instead of China.

    Light, inexpensive and accurate.

    I don’t know how I did without this, especially for baking. Weighing ingredients instead of using cups and spoons is so much more accurate and produces much more consistent results. I use this all the time now.

    I have been using this scale for all kinds of different things from baking to now measuring my breastmilk. I have had this scale for six years and I’ve used it pretty extensively and the batteries have lasted this whole time and I’ve had no issues. Would buy again when mine eventually give out

    Good for items heavier than 5 grams.

    The scale is pretty accurate if the item that you’re weighing is a few ounces or a few grams but if you want to get real accurate gram weight you need a different scale that is more sensitive

    Great slimline into digital easy to useI use a scale from an old manual set to pop on the top of the scale to keep it clean – hope that makes sense! I don’t weigh wet foods directly on the top I always use my stainless steel scale bowl for that. But dry foods I pop directly on the scale. Easy to cleanChange the setting to whatever measurement you want. Easy to pop away in a drawer but we leave ours in the counter as we use it all the time

    I’ve had this scale for at least 2 years!

    I’ve had this scale for at least 2 years if not longer and I haven’t had a problem with it yet! It’s very accurate (as I’ve compared it to my friends more expensive food scales and it gets the same readings) so if you’re looking for a new food scale this is a good one!

    Working perfectly so far

    Had it a week. Been working perfectly so far. Got it mainly to measure my lovebird, who is apparently 40 grams. We’ve also used it to weigh out food. Handy to have in the kitchen. The weight does change by a gram or two if the bird stands near the edge instead of the center, so not great if you want a scientific measurement but perfect for everyday home /food weight use. Looks nice too.

    Simple & easy to use

    Started making food for my dog that has allergies. I have two dogs and in the interest of serving even portions I bought the Etekcity scale to measure out their portions. I really like the scale and it’s come in useful for other cooking purposes.

    Too many functions and too few buttons

    The rare button is also the power button. Not only does it do basic standard and metric, it also has settings for different liquid weights. I am unsure how many total settings, but they are a lot and scrolling through is annoying if you miss your choice since it only goes one direction. Even if you select the correct option it changes on its own on occasion too.

    NUTRITION SCALE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!

    Like many people I’m overweight and have tried many “diets” to slim down. I’m now convinced calorie counting/portion control is the key to weight loss. This will be the 4th nutrition scale I’ve purchased and tried. The first one didn’t work out of the box and was returned. The next one from Smart Chef actually worked well for 6 months then just quit. The scale still weighed food I just couldn’t look up or transfer data.The weakness of any of these scales is the app that is used with them. I’ve got lots of experience with “smart” apps with Alexa connected to and operating everything possible in my home. What I’ve found is the more smart products a company powers the better their software team is at finding problems and restoring function after an issue with “the cloud”. To get the necessary caloric values this app has to go through the cloud to a database for the info. The scale I purchased before this was a nice, accurate scale that had a network problem every time I opened the app. The sellers were nice folk that tried to be helpful but knew nothing about software and when communicating about the problem wasted my time asking stupid questions like I was an idiot.I have been using this for a week and although I had trouble at first logging data I fooled around with it until i learned how to use it. I should have taken a star off for lack of clear instructions but am so pleased it actually works as advertised. I did reach out for help at first and got an email contact form that said they’d get back to me in a few days. So not 5 star support, but they did open a case and asked for more info so there is some support if necessary. A through YouTube video would be very helpful.One of the most critical features is the ability to link with a fitness app to keep track of your progress.The two major players here are Apple Health and Fitbit. I bought and wore a Fitbit last fall just for the purpose of tracking everything, but was disappointed at how very little was automatically tallied and that I had to constantly sync to keep it up to date.I have been wearing a Samsung Galaxy watch for a few years and really like the Samsung Health app better than Fitbit or Google Fit. Unfortunately they are not a big enough player for many of these fitness trackers to link to.Enter the Health Sync app. For free or a tiny fee if you don’t want any ads, the Health Sync app seamlesslymoves data from Fitbit to Samsung Health, so all my fitness metrics are in one place.One of the things I like about the Etekcity scale and VeSync app is the flexibility to remove all the clutter for the home screen. The app is really trying to help folks with weight loss by suggesting different diets like keto or Mediterranean but all that can be turned off and removed.Another nice feature is so far everything I’ve looked up stays visible below the “look up food” window speeding up the discovery process.Another thing I like is I put a plate on the scale then zero it out with the tare button, let’s say weigh a slice of protein bread, but then once that’s recorded can zero out the scale again, put some sugar free raspberry jam on the toast and weigh get the additional calories logged. First weigh the salad, then with the dressing etc.The database is pretty extensive so far I’ve found something close to everything I’ve looked up.On the Keto diet spent years treating a potato or tortilla chip like poison. I just read a study that said regardless of diet choices calories are the key. This tool should help me eat what I want but in small enough portions to lose a pound a week until I reach my target.

    Second time I’ve bought it, and it’s still great!

    I bought this same scale maybe 5 years ago, and either water or something else got in there and it finally stopped working. Bought it again and it’s still a great scale. Love how small and compact it is to put it away in a drawer when not in use. I use it for baking and meal prep if I am tracking macros. Just a simple, compact scale, with the ability to change the units.

    Works Great

    I’ve had this thing for almost 2 years. I use it mostly for measuring out coffee. I put the bottom part of the coffee grinder on the scale and zero it out. Then it is really easy to add coffee beans until I get the right amount. I have had no issues with the battery or the display or the buttons or anything. It just works like it is supposed to. Easy to clean. Easy to store.But the really amazing thing is every time I take the grinder off, the scale goes negative,,, Exactly -81 grams. Every. Single. Time. Never ceases to amaze me.

    Makes tracking nutrition so easy and fast

    I’ve been looking for a scale like this all of my life. Using a regular scale and a food tracking app to track my nutrition took a long time, and I would start to obsess about food, calories, and nutrition. It was not sustainable or healthy for me. I would always fail to do it long term because I felt so much anxiety around food. With this scale, I scan a barcode or type in the name of a food then weigh the food. The scale keeps track of all of that information. I just have to glance in the app to see my total calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates to be sure that I got my nutrients for the day. Once I get all of my nutrients, then I know I don’t have to eat anymore for the day.I included a video of a sample food entry that I made when I was trying out the scale for the first time.
